Business Iceland's Tourism Account Manager Þorleifur Þór Jónsson speaking to attendees about North Iceland as a direct flight destination in Manchester, U.K.

On September 5, Business Iceland, in collaboration with the North Iceland Marketing office, presented in Manchester to spark interest among local travel agents about easyJet's direct flights from Manchester, starting in late October.

Over 30 attendees participated in the event, which was held at Chill Factore, the largest indoor ski slope in England. Þorleifur Þór Jónsson from Business Iceland and Halldór Óli Kjartansson from North Iceland Marketing highlighted the benefits of visiting North Iceland and Iceland in general. Chris Hagan, PR representative for North Iceland in the U.K., covered various practical aspects regarding travel sales. To wrap up the event, guests enjoyed an afternoon of snow tubing and sledding, leaving with winter on their minds. By linking the presentation directly to the snow, the experience was memorable for attendees. It will keep Iceland and North Iceland top of mind when planning winter trips, according to Þorleifur Þór.

EasyJet will offer flights to Akureyri twice weekly from October through March 2025, departing from Manchester and London (Gatwick). The flights have been well-received in both the U.K. and Iceland.

Below are some pictures from the event.
