Business Iceland organized two events for the tourism sector in Asia in October. First, a workshop was held in Bangkok on October 24, attended by representatives of over 30 regional companies. Second, Business Iceland sponsored a national booth at the travel exhibition ITB Asia in Singapore from October 25-27. Iceland has been participating in the show since 2017, and interest in Iceland in the region has been steadily increasing year by year.

Ten companies in the tourism industry participated in the trip. These included Grayline-RSS, Reykjavik Sailors, Terra Nova, GJ Travel, Arctic Adventures, Bus Travel, Icelandia, Nonni Travel, and Icelandair, along with representatives from Illulisat, Greenland, joining the group. With travel back on track after the pandemic, it's clear that travelers are eager to journey to more remote destinations, and many Asians are keen to visit Iceland. An increase in the number of visitors from this part of the world is expected in the coming years, especially during the winter months, with the Northern Lights being a major attraction.
