The Icelandic cultural festival Taste of Iceland wrapped up its third stop in New York City, with the final one of the year to be held in Seattle on October 3-5.
The festival officially began on Thursday, September 5, and ran through Saturday evening with myriad events. Among the participants in the program were Lilja Dögg Alfreðsdóttir, Minister of Culture, Trade, and Tourism; Svanhildur Hólm Valsdóttir, Iceland's new Ambassador to the United States; and Carrin F. Patman U.S. Ambassador to Iceland.
Several Icelandic talents were participating in the festival, including authors Ragnar Jónasson and Yrsa Sigurðardóttir, comedian Ari Eldjárn, and musician Klemens Hannigan, as well as national team chefs Snædís Xyza Mae Ocampo and Ólöf Ólafsdóttir.
Through engaging events, Taste of Iceland promotes Icelandic culture, food, arts and music, goods, design, nature, and wellness. As in previous years, Iceland continues to enjoy great interest abroad, with the Taste of Iceland program attracting significant attention from the media and influencers. Interest in the New York stop was very high, and demand was much greater than supply—sorry to all those who could not get into events!
