Meet in Reykjavík is the official Convention Bureau for Iceland and Reykjavík City. Our mission is to help business event planners create an unforgettable event in a one-of-a-kind destination.
Iceland: The ideal country for your event
Meet in Reykjavík was founded in 2012 to promote Iceland and Reykjavík's image as an appealing destination for conferences, meetings, incentive trips, and international events (MICE).
The project was an initiative from the City of Reykjavík, Icelandair Group, and Harpa to increase the percentage of conferences, meetings, incentive travel trips, and event visitors to the country.
Meet in Reykjavík merged with Business Iceland in 2020 and is now an independent project. Meet in Iceland's activities follow the guidelines of Icelandic tourism, Iceland's export policy, and The City of Reykjavík's tourism policy.
Destination and event management is big business.
Considerable interests are at stake for destinations to build reputation and demand within the MICE industry, as the market is considered one of the critical drivers of economic injection due to its profitability. Research further shows that this market, in particular, encourages technological progress, enhances business opportunities, and contributes to developing specific service standards and infrastructure (UNWTO 2014).
The activities of Meet in Reykjavík are open to all companies that have an interest in MICE tourism in Iceland and have valid business licenses and insurance. Registration and participation in general work are free of charge, but companies pay for participation in specific projects, such as participation in exhibitions, sales visits, etc.
