horse-farm visits, movies, fairs, festivities and more.

PROGRAM
MONDAY 28 MARCH
Trip to South Iceland, visiting three top breeding farms which have been selected the best for three consecutive years. The trip will end at Ingólfshöll with a horseshow from the riding clubs of South Iceland.

MONDAY EVENING: Bíó Paradís-Cinema.

TUESDAY 29 MARCH
Trip to breeding farms in West Iceland. On the way we will visit The Agricultural University of Iceland at Hvanneyri.

TUESDAY EVENING: Bíó Paradís-Cinema.

WEDNESDAY 30 MARCH
Horseshow – Riding Hall Vídidalur in Reykjavík.
Hosted by The Trainers Association of Iceland and The Association of Breeding Farms in Iceland.

WEDNESDAY EVENING: Bíó Paradís-Cinema.

THURSDAY 31 MARCH
The Agricultural University of Iceland at Hólar
An introduction.

THURSDAY EVENING: Horse show and market held at the riding hall in Mosfellsbær. Horses for sale, lots of fun and many exciting things to see.

FRIDAY 1 APRIL
Horse festival in the town of Hafnarfjördur on the outskirts of Reykjavik. From 16:00-18:00 hrs. At Thorsplan (Hafnarfjordur center). Horses, music and other fun things. A group of riders will ride through the streets of Hafnarfjordur to Fjardarkaup-supermarket. At Fjardarkaup car-park, riding club Sörli from Hafnarfjordur will host a small show.

FRIDAY EVENING: Show at the Riding Hall in Vídidalur. Seven riding clubs in the capital-area put on a fantastic show. The youth-clubs will also be part of the show. Do not miss this event. Great fun for every age.

SATURDAY 2 APRIL
THE BIG DAY!
A parade of horses starts at the University of Iceland, travels through the main shopping street Laugarvegur and finishes at The Reykjavík Zoo and Family Park in Laugardalur. The park is the venue for The “Gobbidígobb” (Clippity-Clop) Family Fair with free admission to several events for the whole family, horseback-riding, arts and crafts, music performances and more.

SATURDAY EVENING:
“ALL THE STRONGEST” – A “tölt”-competition on ice held at the Reykjavík Skating Hall in Laugardalur, next to The Reykjavík Zoo and Family Park. Come and see the “créme-de-la-créme”, the strongest riders and most magnificent horses.

OTHER HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE:
26 MARCH: The Orri-Show held at Ingólfshöll (South Iceland) where the offsprings of the stallion Orri from Thufa, one of Iceland’s greatest stallions, will be on show.

27 MARCH – at noon: A “tölt”-competition in the riding hall of Hördur Riding Club in Mosfellsbær on the outskirts of Reykjavik. The competition is held in co-operation with the charity organization LÍF (english: life). All profits will go undivided to The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Landspitali, The National University Hospital of Iceland.
